Working Group Claff
Pharmaceutical & Medicinal Chemistry

Ph.D. position available!

For my working group I am seeking a Ph.D. student I look forward to receiving your application.

Assistant Professor Dr. Tobias Claff

My research focuses on the structural and functional characterization of protein ligand interactions at the molecular level. By integrating structural biology with biophysical and cell-based assay systems, I investigate the mechanisms of molecular recognition and signaling in pharmacologically relevant target proteins. My work provides mechanistic insights that enable the identification of new therapeutic targets and opportunities for structure-based drug discovery.

 Research focus

  •  Structural characterization of proteins, with a particular focus on membrane proteins
  • Cryo-electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography
  • G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) as pharmacological targets
  • Functional validation using cell-based assays and molecular binding analyses
  • Structure-based drug design

But the results are only useful if they are shared with the scientific community.
